The Person and Work of Christ
1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been convinced by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. (Isiah 7:14: Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall concieve, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. See also Isiah 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; II Corinthians 5:19-21; Galations 4:4-5; Phillipians 2:5-8) 2. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through the shedding of His blood; His death on the cross as a represenative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. ( Romans 3:24-25 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propiation through faith in his blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;; Acts 2:18-36; I Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; I Peter 1:3-5) 3. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Represenative, Intercessor, and Advocate. (Acts 1:9-10: And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Hebrews 9:24, 7:25; Romans 8:34, I John 2:1-2)
